AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Tuesday met Algerian Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security Youcef Chorfa.

Highlighting the importance of His Majesty King Abdullah's visit to Algeria earlier this month, Khasawneh said that "fruitful" discussions were held with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, noting that a ministerial team has been instructed to visit Algiera to follow up on the summit that gathered the two leaderships.

The   Royal visit has focused on advancing economic and investment cooperation, trade exchange, tourism, medical tourism, agriculture, energy, training of personnel, the exchange of expertise in the fields of technical and vocational education and capacity building in the field of health, he noted, stressing Jordan's readiness to share its experiences in multiple fields.

Jordan welcomes the revival of medical tourism that was seen between both countries, especially facilitating the treatment of Algerian patients in Jordanian hospitals, he said. He also called to build upon the successful experience of Jordanian pharmaceutical companies which have invested in Algeria.

Royal Jordanian, the national carrier, intends to resume a direct line connecting Amman and Algiers, at a rate of two flights a week, he added.

The Algerian minister said that a medical tourism-related bilateral agreement will be renewed soon, commending the advanced level of the Jordanian health sector.
