Education ministry releases circular setting school hours

AMMAN — The Ministry of Education on Wednesday released a circular pertaining to school hours following the government’s recent decision to keep the summer time year-round. From Sunday October 30, 2022, through Sunday April 2, 2023, the school day at single shift schools will begin at 8:15am, with the first class to be held at 8:30am. Schools will open their doors to students at 7:45am. For double shift schools, night shift classes will begin at 12:20pm, with the first class to be held at 1:00pm. The morning classes will be 45 minutes long, and the night courses will last for 35 minutes.
