AMMAN — The Amman Magistrates Court on Thursday decided to release three defendants being held in connection with the Jabal Luweibdeh building collapse. The law stipulates that in such cases, defendants cannot be detained for more than one month based on misdemeanour charges.

The three defendants, including the heir of the building owner, who was responsible for supervising the property, the maintenance supervisor and a maintenance technician, face 14 counts of manslaughter and causing harm.

The incident claimed the lives of 14 people and left nine injuries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. In the upcoming session, the court will hear testimonies from six experts related to the case.
