AMMAN — This year’s Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking has placed the University of Jordan (UJ) among the top 601-800 universities in the world. UJ was ranked among the top 801-1000 in the last six years.

This ranking, issued by the Times Higher Education Foundation, is based on five criteria: Education, research, citations, industry income and international outlook, in which the university ranks 479th globally, according to a statement from the UJ.

UJ is the only university in the Kingdom that is featured in three major higher education rankings; the Shanghai ranking, which the university entered for the first time this year, placing 701-800 globally; the QS World Classification, in which the university advanced this year to the 591-600 bracket, and the Times ranking.

UJ President Nathir Obeidat pointed out that this important achievement confirms the tireless efforts to develop learning, education and research at the university, as well as the establishment of fruitful local and international partnerships.
