AMMAN — Current prevailing global economic circumstances require Jordan and Syria create a plan to reconsider their mutual economic situation through industry partnerships of high quality and added value, Syrian Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh said on Sunday.

Participating in the Jordanian-Syrian economic forum, currently hosted in Damascus, Sabbagh said that his country is currently rebuilding the industrial sector, which went through "systematic" destruction during the Syrian crisis, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Chairman of the Jordan and Aqaba chamber of commerce Nael Kabariti highlighted the importance of unifying technical standards between the two countries to facilitate the cross-border flow of goods.

Also participating in the forum, Executive Director of the Jordan Industrial Estates Company (JIEC) Omar Juwaid said that there are 37 Syrian investments valued at JD190 million in the Kingdom's industrial estates.
