Health camp for children with diabetes kicks off

AMMAN — Deputising for HRH Princess Muna, Minister of Health Feras Al Hawari on Saturday attended the opening of a camp for children with type 1 diabetes.
Under the theme "Together we beat diabetes", the four-day event at the Syndian resort, was organised by the Nurses Syndicate with the participation of 24 children with diabetes aged between 8 and 11 years old, under the supervision of 26 specialists, including 12 nurses, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Hawari said that the ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Royal Health Awareness Society, is preparing a campaign to address obesity among children. President of the Nurses Syndicate, Ibrahim Rababa, said that the camp aims to find nurses who can provide healthcare services for children with diabetes, and allow the children to share their experiences with one another, noting that the event combines education and awareness with entertainment.
