AMMAN — The Senate on Thursday returned a bill related to the amendments of the Independent Elections Commission Law to the Lower House after disagreeing with the deputies over adding the phrase "political parties" to the title of the commission.
During the session, the Upper Chamber approved a draft law on licensing professions within the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) as amended by the Lower House, the Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.
The bill supports home-based offices and jobs by exempting beneficiaries from 50 per cent of licensing fees and exempting them from 100 per cent of the fees in the first three years of receiving the licences. Also on Thursday, the Senate offered the Ministry of Social Development an amount of JD30,000 in support of underprivileged families.
