AMMAN — The Energy Ministry on Tuesday embarked on holding meetings with companies in the renewable energy sector to re-negotiate prices of selling electric power generated from their projects to the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) or electricity distribution companies.
Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh said that re-negotiations are part of the ministry’s reform procedure to reduce the cost of the electric system in a way that achieves justice among NEPCO and all companies in the sector, according to a ministry statement.
The minister noted that Jordan, by the end of 2021, received about 26 per cent of the electric power generated from renewable energy resources.
