Gov't to pay compensation for farmers affected by drying up of Al Waleh Dam

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday approved the disbursement of JD1 million in compensation for farmers who have suffered losses due to the drying up of Al Waleh Dam in Madaba.
The Cabinet also approved to pay next week the dues of those affected by a cross-border wildfire that engulfed some 150-dunum plot of land in the Northern Jordan Valley, according to Agriculture Minister Khalid Hneifat.
The government, through diplomatic channels, is working to secure the cost of the damages from those who caused the fire on the other side of the border, he added, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
