AMMAN — Jordan has been invited to take part in the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), said Pakistan's Ambassador to Jordan Sajjad Ali Khan on Wednesday.

The meeting is scheduled to be held in Pakistan's capital Islamabad between December 17 and 19, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. During a press conference, the envoy praised Jordan's role, through the OIC and world community, in supporting Islamic causes.

The humanitarian and economic crisis in Afghanistan tops the agenda of the two-day meeting, which was arranged at the request of Saudi Arabia, the diplomat said. He added that the OIC member states will discuss the situation in Afghanistan to help provide appropriate humanitarian response by promoting regional security and peace.
