Int’l Conference on History, Archaeology of Jordan to be held next July

AMMAN — The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Department of Antiquities (DoA), in cooperation with Yarmouk University, on Wednesday announced that the 15th International Conference on the History and Archaeology of Jordan under the patronage of HRH Prince Hassan will be held between July 18 and 21, 2022.

A joint statement by the ministry and the DoA, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said that Tourism Minister Nayef Fayez and President of Yarmouk University Islam Massad agreed on the final arrangements to hold the conference, under the title: “Thoughtful Archaeology in the Ecosphere and Sociosphere”. The first conference, which was held in Oxford University in 1980, was an initiative of Prince Hassan, according to the statement.
