Speaker, EU ambassador discuss parliamentary cooperation

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Abdulmunim Oddat on Monday met Ambassador of the European Union (EU) Maria Hadjitheodosiou over advancing relations in all fields, mainly parliamentary cooperation.
Oddat, during the meeting, expressed appreciation of the EU’s assistance to the Kingdom, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination towards achieving regional security and stability.
He also expressed appreciation of the EU’s supportive stances towards Palestinians legitimate rights, highlighting the Kingdom’s constants related to the Palestinian cause.
Hadjitheodosiou expressed the EU’s appreciation of the Kingdom’s role in maintaining regional security and stability, as well as in receiving refugees. She said that Jordan has “set an example” of security and stability amid a turbulent region. The amsbassador said that the partnership between Jordan and the EU is strategic, expressing the union’s keenness to expand cooperation in all fields.
