JAF bolsters Border Guard units

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Wednesday met with a unit of the Eastern Military Region, in the presence of a number of senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

According to the directives of Huneiti, JAF have bolstered the Border Guard units on the northern and eastern fronts of the Kingdom with special forces, a rapid reaction force, and Royal Jordanian Air Force aircrafts, Petra reported.

During his visit, he reaffirmed that the JAF will firmly deal with any attempt to threaten the Kingdom's borders and its national security. Huneiti was briefed about the efforts exerted to prevent infiltration and smuggling occurring at the Kingdom’s  border fronts, in cooperation with the various security services.
