AMMAN — Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Monday held discussions with his Romanian counterpart Bogdan Aurescu, his Luxembourgish counterpart Jean Asselborn and German Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Nils Anin, with talks focusing on the Palestinian cause, according to a ministry statement.

Talks over the phone also went over bilateral relations and means of developing them. Safadi stressed the importance of launching “real efforts” towards achieving the two-state solution, based on international law and international legitimacy resolutions, “the sole way” to a just and comprehensive peace.

He also highlighted the necessity of stopping Israeli annexation of Palestinian land, as well as all unilateral measures that undermine the two-state solution and peace opportunities.

Safadi also appreciated the European Union's position on the two-state solution and its adherence to international law.

Safadi also participated in the Annual Meeting of Romanian Diplomacy, reviewing the prospects of Jordanian-Romanian cooperation and presenting the Kingdom's vision on regional challenges and efforts to resolve them.
