AMMAN — The Royal Hashemite Court on Monday hosted the signing ceremony of two agreements to finance an agricultural project to support and empower the local community in Mudawwarah District in Maan Governorate.

The project is in implementation of His Majesty King Abdullah's directives to improve the living condition of local families and boost the development process in the district, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. King Abdullah, during a visit to the southern governorates early in the year, launched a series of agricultural projects on a 25,000-dunum plot of land.

The Hashemite Fund for the Development of Jordan Badia and the Mudawwarah Agricultural Cooperative Society signed the first agreement, while the Environment Ministry and the Haqq foundation signed the second.

Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi, head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal initiatives, said that the project will provide all necessary agricultural equipment, the infrastructure and the irrigation system, in addition to the operational costs during the first year of the project, according to Petra.
