AMMAN — The Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee on Sunday voiced its rejection of all Israeli measures aimed at annexing large swathes of the West Bank and the Jordan Valley.
The committee called on countries supporting these escalatory steps to reconsider their positions, stressing that the Palestinian cause and Jordan’s security are “sensitive issues that cannot be touched”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
MP Raed Khazaleh, head of the panel, during a committee meeting, said that it is necessary for Jordan to find proper means to deal with these measures. Members of the committee called on the international community and parliaments to pressure their governments to take necessary steps to deter Israel from implementing such measures in a bid to realise and enhance world peace and stability.
