AMMAN — The National Aid Fund (NAF) on Wednesday sent text messages to around 40,000 families of daily wage workers, inviting them to open e-wallets to receive cash assistance. This is the second batch of daily wage workers to receive this assistance.

NAF Director General Omar Mashagbeh said that the fund on Wednesday transferred cash assistance to 12,000 households of daily wage workers, bringing the total number of beneficiary families to 80,000.

The number of families expected to benefit from government support is over 200,000, he said.

The committee tasked with managing the Himmat Watan Fund allocated JD27 million to the NAF account, a move intended to support those affected by the coronavirus crisis, specifically daily wage workers affected by the curfew, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
