Winners of El Hassan Bin Talal Award for Scientific Excellence announced

AMMAN — On the occasion of HRH Prince Hassan's birthday, which falls on March 20, the Higher Council for Science and Technology announced the winning projects of "El Hassan Bin Talal Award for Scientific Excellence", which was allocated this year for general educational institutions,  excluding vocational institutions, according to a statement from the council.

The first prize, totalling JD7,000, is being shared between Al Jawasreh Secondary Comprehensive Mixed School in Southern Shouneh for its project "Grey Water" and Al Ridwan Schools in Amman for its project "History of Glory Operetta".

The second prize of JD5,000 is being shared between Al Dur Al Manthour Schools in Amman for its project “Education Programme for Sustainable Development Issues in the Health, Water, Energy and Environment Sectors" and Al Raed Al Arabi School in Amman for its project "Environmental Refrigerator".

The third prize of JD3,000 is being shared between The National Orthodox School in Amman for its project titled "Michel Sindaha Arabic Language Literary Creativity Competition", and the Education Directorate of the Districts of Taibah and Wasatiyah in Irbid for its project "School Theatre and Dramatising Curriculum and Innovative Games".

A total of 78 institutions applied for the award, 65 of them public educational institutions, according to the statement.
