Winners of El Hassan Bin Talal Award for Scientific Excellence 2023 announced

AMMAN — The General Secretariat of the Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST) has announced the winning projects of the El Hassan Bin Talal Award for Scientific Excellence for the year 2023. 

The first prize of JD10,000 is shared between Al Zubayriyah Elementary School for Boys in Maan for its project “Our Green Environment, Greenhouse Farming”, and Al Ridwan Schools in Amman for the project “Robots for Sustainable Projects and Community Service”, according to a statement from the council.

The second prize of JD7,000 is shared between Al Mughirah Bin Shu'bah Secondary School for Boys in Zarqa for its project “STEAME lab – An incubator for creativity, innovation and talent development” and Al Ra'ed Al Arabi School for its project “Reducing the impact of treated water on the drip irrigation system”.

The third prize of JD5,000 is shared between Al Joufah Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls in Balqa for its project “Wicking beds garden” and Al Dur Al Manthour School in Amman for its project  “Own the keys to the future – A comprehensive programme for teaching 21st century skills”.

The award’s committee received a total of 78 submissions from 73 general education institutions. The winners of the award will be honoured during a ceremony that will be held under the patronage of HRH Prince Hassan, chairman of the HCST.
