AMMAN — The Australian embassy in Amman on Thursday celebrated the country’s national day, which normally falls on January 26 every year, with partners, colleagues and friends at The Hangar in Ras Al Ain.
According to an embassy statement, the event was a chance to “reflect on all the things we love about Australia: Land, sense of fair go, lifestyle, democracy, the freedoms we enjoy and our people”.
The embassy in the statement also recognised and expressed its gratitude for the firefighters, defence personnel and volunteers who are supporting communities affected by unprecedented bushfires and protecting Australia’s natural environment and important cultural sites. It also thanked those in Jordan who have offered assistance and have donated to support relief efforts.
The statement concluded by urging international partners to spread the message that Australia “remains open for business and welcomes international visitors” and expressing the embassy’s keenness to further strengthen and deepen its“valued relationship” with Jordan.
