AMMAN — There is no intention to change presidents of public universities or their boards of trustees unless there is a real reason that requires such a move, Higher Education Minister Muhyiddine Touq said on Thursday.
During a meeting with presidents of public universities, Touq said that the government’s support to public universities in 2020 will increase by JD18 million to reach JD90 million, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister added that there is a plan to reconsider the criteria of distributing support, under which more aid will be granted to universities that apply proper administrative governance and financial procedures.
