AMMAN — President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (APU) and Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh condemned on Wednesday the Houthi militia’s attack on Abha International Airport in southern Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
In a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Tarawneh said that targeting civilians is an “outrageous violation” of the values of humanity and international conventions, stressing the need for necessary measures to hinder the funding of terrorism and the spread of its ideology.
He highlighted the need for united international efforts to counter the threats that target the security and stability of the Arab Gulf. He also reiterated the APU’s support to Saudi Arabia’s efforts in sustaining regional security.
