In Kuwait, King reiterates support for Arab Gulf in safeguarding stability

His Majesty, Kuwaiti emir reaffirm strong Jordan-Kuwait ties

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, held talks with Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah at Dasman Palace in Kuwait on Monday, on bilateral relations and the latest regional developments.

During the talks, attended by Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the two leaders expressed pride in the deep-rooted, brotherly ties between Jordan and Kuwait, as well as keenness to maintain cooperation and coordination on issues of mutual concern in the best interests of the two people and in service of Arab and Islamic causes, a Royal Court statement said.

King Abdullah thanked Sheikh Sabah for Kuwait’s ongoing support to Jordan, commending the positions of Sheikh Sabah on regional issues and his efforts to promote Arab solidarity.

His Majesty reaffirmed Jordan’s support for Gulf Arab countries in their efforts to safeguard their stability.

For his part, Sheikh Sabah stressed Kuwait’s keenness to advance cooperation with Jordan in various fields, praising the Kingdom’s positions in supporting Arab causes and enhancing security and stability in the region, according to the statement.

Talks also covered regional developments and efforts to reach political solutions to crises in the region.

Sheikh Sabah hosted an Iftar in honour of His Majesty and the accompanying delegation, attended by senior Kuwaiti officials and officers.

Earlier in the day, King Abdullah was received at the airport by the Kuwaiti emir and crown prince and a number of senior Kuwaiti officials.

His Majesty returned back to Jordan after his meetings in Kuwait Monday night, according to the statement.
