AMMAN — Police units over the past 24 hours dealt with three complaints of abduction that turned out to be false accusations after investigations, the Public Security Department (PSD) spokesperson said on Thursday.
One of the cases was received by the Juwaideh police precinct from a citizen who said that he saw a man and woman hitting a child and putting him in the trunk of a vehicle, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Security personnel identified the two people and stopped their vehicle, and after initial investigation the child turned out to be the son of the woman and grandchild of the man who said that they hit the boy for “disciplinary” reasons; the case was referred to the PSD’s Family Protection unit, the spokesperson added.
