USAID administrator to visit Jordan, meet with gov’t officials

AMMAN — The US Agency for International Development (USAID) on Thursday announced that its administrator, Mark Green, will travel to the Kingdom in late March.
The visit is part of a multi-country tour on March 22-30 to both Jordan and Egypt, according to a statement sent by USAID.
The administrator will be accompanied by Administrator for the Middle East Bureau Michael Harvey and acting assistant administrator for legislative and public affairs Eddy Acevedo.
While in Jordan, Green and the delegation will visit USAID projects and meet with senior government officials and local community members to strengthen bilateral relationships.
The administrator will also attend meetings on education, youth engagement and private-sector development, in addition to visiting USAID investments in wastewater management, health, cultural preservation and humanitarian aid.
In Egypt, Green will meet with civil-society partners, young entrepreneurs and faith-based organisations, in addition to visiting USAID programmes that support tourism, higher education and agribusiness, the statement said.
