AMMAN — There were no Jordanians among the victims of the Ethiopian plane crash, an official Foreign Ministry statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said on Sunday.

Ambassador Sufian Qudah, the ministry’s spokesperson, said that officials had followed up with the Jordanian Embassy in Addis Ababa confirming that no Jordanians were aboard the crashed aircraft. On behalf of the Kingdom, Qudah expressed condolences and sympathies to Ethiopia and the families of the victims who lost their lives.

An Ethiopian Airlines passenger jet bound for Nairobi crashed minutes after take-off on Sunday, killing all 157 people on board and raising questions about the safety of the Boeing 737 MAX 8, a new model that also crashed in Indonesia in October, according to Reuters.
