Lower House celebrates International Women’s Day

AMMAN — Acting Lower House speaker Nassar Qaisi on Sunday, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, honoured female MPs and employees of the House’s general secretariat.
During the ceremony, Qaisi said that Jordan has achieved a “big” legislative and political leap in women empowerment, adding that such efforts have to continue to push the Kingdom forward and on top each effort that aims at recognising the status of women, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
MP Reem Abu Dalbouh, head of the Chamber’s Women and Family Affairs Committee, underlined that Jordanian women have proven their abilities to excel in all political, educational, social, economic and vocational fields.
