AMMAN — The Ministry of Water and Irrigation and the German Development Bank (KfW) on Sunday signed an agreement to fund the fourth phase of the Shafa Badran sewage network project.

The plan, valued at JD1.4 million, entails the dismantling of the Abu Nseir Purification Station and pumping sewage to the Samra Wastewater Treatment Plant, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

KfW is financing 90 per cent of the project and the Water Ministry is financing the remaining 10 per cent. Water Minister Raed Abul Saud said that the project aims at improving infrastructure, protecting groundwater and finding an environment-friendly solution for the more than 100,000 citizens living in the neighbourhood.
