AMMAN — The Planning Ministry in 2019 will finance 480 projects for military retirees and their families through a loan portfolio for small enterprises that the ministry launched in 2017 following Royal Directives, Planning Minister Mary Kawar said on Tuesday.
During the opening of a training workshop for cooperative societies of military retirees, Kawar said that the portfolio’s first phase in 2018 enabled 173 retired servicemen to start their own projects across the Kingdom, according to a ministry statement.
The ministry launched the 2017-2019 portfolio with a value of JD3 million, and is aimed at offering zero-interest loans and all types of free support, including technical and administrative consultation, to make such schemes succeed.
