The project, the total cost of which is JD220,000, is funded by the Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF) and was implemented under Royal Directives.

It entails applying such systems to 128 schools nationwide this year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Energy Minister Hala Zawati said that the project will be implemented over five to seven years and includes equipping a total of 2,600 schools with solar energy systems.

Rasmi Hamzah, JREEEF director, said that the fund is implementing the project in partnership with international donors.
