AMMAN — The Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF) on Tuesday announced the launch of a project for energy rationalisation and renewable energy use at 58 schools, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted a JREEEF statement as saying.
The project, which includes schools in Amman, Ajloun, Karak, Tafileh and Maan governorates, is part of a programme implemented by JREEEF under a Royal initiative to provide heating systems for schools.
The fund’s Executive Director Rasmi Hamzeh said that the project aims to provide proper schools environments through installing heating and cooling systems by using photovoltaic panels on schools’ rooftops.
Work also includes substituting ordinary lamps with LED units, installing solar heaters, painting the schools, as well as an awareness campaign on applications of energy rationalisation.
The project is implemented with the Royal Court’s follow up team on implementing His Majesty’s directives, the Education Ministry and electricity distribution companies.
