His Majesty meets EBRD’s president over future cooperation

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Rania and HRH Crown Prince Hussein, on Wednesday met with President of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti.
They discussed EBRD’s investments in vital sectors in the Kingdom, including renewable energy, water, infrastructure and pharmaceuticals.
His Majesty, during the meeting held on the sidelines of the EBRD's 27th annual gathering and business forum, commended the bank's efforts in supporting economic growth and enhancing business environments in countries where EBRD works, according to a Royal Court statement.
The King-Chakrabarti talks also covered possible future cooperation aspects between the Kingdom and EBRD and establishing partnerships with the public and private sectors, as well as benefitting from the Kingdom's strategic location as a gateway for regional and international markets.
Chakrabarti commended the Kingdom's facilities in rendering the EBRD meeting a success, voicing the bank's aspiration to expand and diversify its investments in Jordan.
