At the press conference announcing the results, Razzaz said that the ministry is working to improve the education policies in line with His Majesty King Abdullah's vision detailed in the Royal Discussion Paper which, he described, as "guidelines for the development of the educational process".

The ministry has already taken various reform measures in the academic year 2017-2018 such as unifying the total sum of marks for all streams, reducing the number of subjects students have to study, and lowering the minimum pass average to 40 per cent, he said, adding that the ministry also decided to allow regular and private-education students to re-apply for exams in one subject to raise their general average for unlimited times.

Razzaz commended girls' excellent scores, noting that it is a global phenomenon and not only restricted to Jordan.

Following the announcement of the results, the Central Traffic Department personnel recorded 500 traffic violations related to students' celebrations.

However, the department noted that this year witnessed a drop in violations compared to last year, when 2,000 violations were recorded.
