France, Syrian American Medical Society partner to support Syrians

AMMAN — French Ambassador to Jordan David Bertolotti and Aref Al Kali, vice dhair of the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) Board of Directors on Thursday signed a partnership agreement to provide medical and psychosocial aid to vulnerable populations in southern Syria and in east ghouta.
During a meeting with Syrian surgeons from the region of Daraa, they discussed future cooperation to provide technical support and finance a primary care centre, a mobile care unit, and a psychosocial centre in Daraa, as well as a rehabilitation centre for spinal cord injuries in Douma, east ghouta, at a cost of 350,000 euros provided by the French government, an embassy statement said.
Bertolotti emphasised that the aid is part of the larger efforts of France to respond to the needs of vulnerable populations inside Syria, especially in the field of health.
