Shweikeh reports progress in e-gov't project

AMMAN — ICT Minister Majd Shweikeh on Wednesday briefed the Cabinet on the progress of the e-government project, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Shweikeh said that the updated version of the Jordanian Government Electronic Portal and "Bekhedmetkom" (at your service) application have been launched on August 20, 2017.

The application is a new way to submit inquiries, proposals and complaints against government institutions, the minister said, adding that it is an interactive portal not only informative and but also the main website of the e-government including all ministries and institutions.

Shweikeh said that the government complaint system has received 1,478 submissions between June and September and they were all processed.

The electronic complaint system is an additional channel to receive residents' complaints but not an alternative to presenting complaints in person at government institutions, according to Shweikeh.

She said that 89 government institutions are linked to the electronic complaints system.

Around 100 liaison officers are responsible to deal with the complaints, said the minister.
