AMMAN — Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani on Monday attended the closing ceremony of a training programme at the Jordan Media Institute (JMI) to build the capabilities of local radio stations.
The 12-month programme, implemented by JMI in cooperation with UNESCO Amman office and funded by the EU, saw the participation of 146 employees and volunteers from seven local stations, according to a JMI statement. Momani highlighted the importance of the programme as an “opportunity” for the participating radio stations to present “distinguished reports”.
UNESCO representative to Jordan, Costanza Farina, said that the organisation seeks to enhance opportunities for local stations to express themselves in the local media sector and to produce journalism that reflects daily life.
