3,475 fines issued by Industry Ministry in first half of 2017

AMMAN — The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply has issued 3,475 fines in the Kingdom during the first half of the year, 2,639 of which were for not announcing prices, Ministry Spokesperson Yanal Barmawi said on Saturday.
Amman registered the highest number of fines with 1,417, followed by Irbid with 571, and Zarqa with 522 fines.
Meanwhile, Maan registered the lowest number with only 37 fines, Barmawi told the Jordan News Agency, Petra. A total of 370 fines were issued for not abiding by the announced prices, 198 for not abiding by the ministry's prices and 143 fines for announcing sales without stating the end period or exceeding the period, he added.
