Japan grants $45,000 for patient transport vehicle in Mafraq

AMMAN — Japan has extended a grant of approximately $45,000 for the procurement of a patient transport vehicle in Mafraq Governorate, according to a statement from the Japanese embassy on Sunday. Masayuki Magoshi, Counsellor of the Embassy of Japan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Ahmed Al Zoubi, Governor of Mafraq attended the handover ceremony.

The project was being implemented by International Planned Parenthood Federation with the close cooperation of Ahel Aljabal Association for Human Development, the statement said.

The vehicle will be used by the association to transport patients in order to improve the provision of emergency healthcare among Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in Mafraq, 80km northeast of Amman,. This year, Japan has extended approximately $29 million of aid for international organisations and NGOs in Jordan from its supplementary budget 2017, the statement said.
