AMMAN — Jordan Customs Department (JCD) personnel have foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,509 military garments that were supposed to undergo security clearances and receive approvals since they are constrained goods, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported Monday. The military clothes were found in a warehouse and confiscated.
The JCD also foiled an attempt to smuggle six tonnes of chemicals used to make air fresheners, Petra reported. Investigations revealed that a house in Amman manufactures the air fresheners and uses special machinery to put fake country-of-origin stickers on the items to scam people.
