AMMAN — The Agriculture Credit Corporation (ACC) will extend JD20 million in soft loans to farmers in 2017-2018, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Saturday. The measure came on the heels of government decisions related to loans to support irrigated and protected agriculture and the production of fodder for cattle farmers.
According to the decisions, farmers will receive zero interest loans, Petra said. During its meeting, the ACC’s board of directors, chaired by Agriculture Minister Khaled Hneifat, decided to increase the cap of loans for agriculture projects that use solar energy to JD75,000 for artesian wells and JD50,000 for other projects involving olive presses, fish, poultry or cattle farms.
