AMMAN — Amman Governor Saad Shihab on Monday received USAID Deputy Mission Director Lewis Tatem and discussed ways to steer the agency’s support towards projects and programmes of high national priority.
Shihab said civil society institutions and the private sector have contributed to preparing a development plan for Amman, noting that the government allocated JD178 million from the state budget to the capital and JD5.5 million for infrastructure projects, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Tatem said target fields of cooperation are water, healthcare and economic sectors, adding that the support will focus on underprivileged areas that suffer from lack of basic services.
