El Hassan excellence award to target public education institutions this year

AMMAN — This year’s El Hassan Award for Scientific Excellence will be awarded to public education institutions, according to a decision by the Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST) announced Saturday.

The institutions targeted by the award are divided into three categories: public education, higher education and technical and vocational institutions.

The award is granted alternately to each category over a three-year cycle according to standards like contribution to economic, social and cultural aspects of life, and developing curricular programmes, a statement from the HCST said.
