More convicted in brokerage scam cases

AMMAN — The State Security Court’s (SSC) civil panel on Tuesday sentenced three defendants involved in a brokerage firm scam to 27 years of imprisonment and a payment of a JD2,700 fine for each, in addition to repaying the JD47.833 million they gained unlawfully through scams.
The money the three brothers took belongs to 2,753 citizens. The court also sentenced a man and his wife involved in a similar case to three years of imprisonment and a JD200 fine to be paid by each, in addition to repaying the $17.5 million they illegally collected from their victims.
