Conference addresses Internet governance, intellectual property

AMMAN — Deputising for HRH Crown Prince Hussein, ICT Minister Majd Shweikeh on Friday inaugurated a conference of the international committee for Internet governance at the King Hussein Business Park.

More than 30 local, regional and international Internet specialists are participating in the three-day conference to discuss a variety of issues related to Internet governance, intellectual property, child protection, freedom of expression, national security and sustainable development.

Delivering the opening address, Shweikeh said the ICT sector has undergone important progress in Jordan, underlining the importance of the sector in achieving sustainable social and economic development.
