Shweikeh opens telecom conference

AMMAN — ICT Minister Majd Shweikeh on Wednesday inaugurated a conference on sustaining human communication, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Forty-five participants from six countries attended the conference on the role of mobile networks in crisis and disaster management, organised by GSM Association.

Shweikeh, who is also minister of public sector development, said mobile communication services are no longer mere accessories but have become as important as water and electricity.
