NEPCO to buy 90MW generated by wind energy in Fujaij

AMMAN — The National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) on Sunday signed an agreement to buy 90 megawatts of electricity from the wind energy project in Fujaij, owned by Korea Electric Power Corporation, at a cost of JD160 million.
NEPCO Director General Abdel Fattah Daradkeh said the project generates electric power from wind and sends it to the electric grid for JD0.08 per kilowatt.
He also highlighted the importance of the scheme in helping the Energy Ministry face the increasing demand on electricity, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
