Japan presents 31 vehicles to refugee affairs directorate

AMMAN — The Syrian Refugees Affairs Directorate has received 31 vehicles through the “Improving Safety and Security for Syrian Refugees in Azraq Camp” project, according to a Japanese embassy statement released Tuesday.
The project is funded by the Japanese government and implemented by the UN Office for Project Services. Head of the Syrian Refuges Affairs Directorate Maj. Gen. Waddah Hmoud, Azraq Camp Security Director Col.
Atef Omoush, Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Shuichi Sakurai, and Director and Representative of the Sub-Regional Operational Hub office in Amman Bana Kaloti attended the handing over ceremony in Azraq.
The Japanese government has allocated around $1.5 million for the project to improve the capacity of the directorate.
