AMMAN — The Social Development Ministry on Thursday denied allegations that ministry employees at the Ruseifa Juvenile Centre facilitated the escape of residents in return for money.
The ministry said an investigation committee, formed by acting social development minister Salameh Neimat, is currently questioning some employees in connection with the incident but not for receiving bribes.
The ministry was notified on Tuesday of the escape of a 17-year-old, who is charged with murder, from the Ruseifa centre.
The committee is expected to finish investigating the incident within 24 hours, the ministry said, adding that it had no information on the escapee’s whereabouts.
