ZARQA — Grand Mufti of Jordan Abdul Karim Khasawneh on Wednesday stressed the importance of eliminating extremism and terrorism in Muslim society.
At a seminar held at the Hashemite University, Khasawneh said Islam has nothing to do with extremist and terrorist groups, which have ruined the reputation of Islam and Muslims.
Khasawneh said young people must be religiously aware in order to stop crimes committed in the name of Islam, highlighting that the iftaa department will prevent any false fatwa (Islamic edict) meant to disrupt public life.
