King renews support for Iraq, urges national unity

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday underlined Jordan's support to Iraqis in their efforts to entrench security and stability in their country.
The King made his remarks during a meeting with Iraqi Deputy President Iyad Allawi, during which discussions covered means to boost bilateral ties in confronting terrorist movements, which are threatening the people of the region.
The Monarch underlined the significance of combating the extremists and takfiris.
On the other hand, King Abdullah reiterated Jordan's stance in supporting all efforts aimed at enhancing the national consensus and cohesion of Iraq with the participation of all political components to meet the aspirations of the Iraqis.
Talks also covered a number of regional issues, in addition to the latest developments in Syria.
Allawi voiced his appreciation of the Kingdom’s support for Iraq, highlighting his commitment to fostering cooperation at all levels.
